About

Stuart Hamilton studied art and architecture at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree with a minor in Fine Art. His professional career initially focused on space planning and interior architecture, where he worked with some of the largest organizations throughout the Midwest and Southwest.

In the 1990s, Stuart served as a Change Communication Specialist for Herman Miller, traveling across North America to help Fortune 500 companies navigate organizational change and understand how workplace environments influence culture, collaboration, and performance.

After relocating to New Mexico in 2004, Stuart returned to his lifelong passion for painting. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive landscapes, architecture, colors, and subtle character of Northern New Mexico, he creates both intimate and large-scale works in acrylic and encaustic. His paintings reflect a deep appreciation for place, capturing the spirit and visual richness of the Southwest through layered textures, light, and composition.
